If you’ve taken a spin around the Elm City recently you might have noticed, instead of cars, there are bike racks and diners in parking spots.

It’s what the city is calls a terasse. It’s where a business pays the city for the parking and they rent from the Town Green special services. So, they can rent the ballards and patio furniture.

Elm City Bike Safety Campaign

Did you know that you can be ticketed for riding your bike on the sidewalks in New Haven? Many people do this each day and are not aware of the rules. Elm City Cycling, a local non-profit, in collaboration with Street Smarts, a local pedestrian safety campaign, are helping to spread the awareness of such rules through their bike advocacy programs. Green Lanes were rolled out this summer downtown to allow bicyclists to have a clearly marked place to ride their bike safely on the road.
