Downtown Community Alliance

Town Green launched the Downtown Community Alliance in 2014 as a way to leverage a closer partnership with the various police departments downtown. By sharing office space, the Downtown Police officers and the Ambassadors have developed a closer working relationship with more regular communication which naturally increases the level of security for our District.

The Downtown Community Alliance is a collaboration between the Town Green Special Services District, New Haven Police Department, and Yale Police Department. The Town Green Special Services District’s Safety and Maintenance Ambassadors shares its headquarters on the first floor of 900 Chapel Street with the New Haven Police Department’s District 1 officers and Yale University’s Police Officers. This unique collaboration increases and improves communication between staffs from all three agencies, promotes community policing, and fosters a stronger safety network in the center city.
