Director, Economic Prosperity

Chris is the Director of Economic Prosperity. A 23-year urban place management veteran with experience at both local and state levels and a track record of solid accomplishments in all aspects of the Main Street Approach. This experience is now being utilized in the management of Town Green District’s Economic Prosperity Initiative where her responsibilities include the Retail Sq. Ft. program to attract, incubate and grow retail business. The position includes significant interaction with private businesses, entrepreneurs, developers, commercial real estate brokers, property managers, public officials and other community stakeholders.

Prior to her New Haven relocation, Chris served as the Executive Director of Newtown Corporation, the business and economic development organization that managed Newtown, PA’s large public-private investment, where she initiated and coordinated a wide range of projects, from marketing and public relations, business retention and recruitment, and public improvements.

In her former capacity at the Pennsylvania Downtown Center, Pennsylvania’s only statewide nonprofit solely dedicated to the revitalization and preservation of the Commonwealth’s downtowns and neighborhood business districts, she served as the Manager of Main Street Program Services where her primary responsibilities included technical assistance, training, outreach services, educational programs, and partnership development.

Chris has had the opportunity to share her management experience at several conferences and workshops including the International Downtown Association (IDA) Conference and an IDA Best Practices webinar, National Main Street Conference, Southern New England American Planning Association (SNEAPA) conference and Connecticut Main Street BRIDGE series.
